We’re excited to introduce August’s Word of the Month: FOCUS (专注 – Zhuānzhù)!
Building on our successful “Patient Panda” challenge from May, this month we’re helping your children develop laser-sharp concentration skills that will benefit them both in martial arts and everyday life.
This Month’s Theme: “Focused Tigers Hunt with Precision!”
Your child can participate in our 4-Week Focus Challenge designed to build concentration gradually:
Week 1 (Aug 5-10): Focus Spot Challenge
Students will practice staring at one specific point during balance poses, building visual concentration and physical stability.
Week 2 (Aug 11-17): Perfect Practice Challenge
Your child will choose one technique to practice 10 times daily with complete attention – quality over quantity!
Week 3 (Aug 18-24): Statue Master Challenge
We’ll work on holding kung fu poses for increasing time periods, starting at 10 seconds and building up to 30+ seconds.
Week 4 (Aug 25-Aug 31): Goal Focus Challenge
Students will set one specific kung fu improvement goal and dedicate 15 minutes daily to focused practice.
How You Can Support at Home:
Encourage your child’s daily practice without pressure
Create a quiet space for their focus exercises
Celebrate small improvements in concentration
Ask about their weekly challenges during car rides
Why Focus Matters:
This progression helps children develop:
Better attention spans for school
Improved self-discipline
Enhanced mind-body connection
Greater confidence in their abilities
Keep practicing,
